Mine Water Remediation

Organic compounds build up in recycled mine process water. These act as fouling agents and can create significant problems for floation, flocculation, and separation processes.

Through the ARC Centre of Excellence for Eco-Beneficiation of Minerals, and funded by the Elizabeth & Vernon Puzey Foundation, we are developing methods to degrade these organic compouds using piezocatalysis.
